The family of Martin Can, the 14-year-old killed in November 2024 after a fight at school, has reacted to the Constitutional Court's decision that declared the closure of the social network TikTok unconstitutional.
In a public statement, the family emphasizes that Martin's murder is unrelated to social media and accuses the government of using their son's tragedy as a pretext for censorship and political maneuvering.
According to them, the real cause of the tragedy is the lack of security in schools, institutional irresponsibility, and the failures of the health system, citing other cases of violence among minors in the country.
The Cani family declares that they will not remain silent and that they will continue to seek justice for Martin, demanding real measures for the safety of the children and not "cosmetic reforms" or bans on social networks.
