A 25-year-old woman died at the University Hospital on Tuesday evening, as a result of self-poisoning with fostoxin.
The young woman has been identified as Xhuana Nikollaj from Lezha, residing in Tirana. After the girl's family filed a complaint against her ex-husband, whom they accuse of violence, the police have declared Eraldo Fizi wanted.
The 25-year-old is suspected of the criminal offenses of "domestic violence" and "causing suicide", but has not been arrested so far.
The girl's family claims that Xhuana's body showed signs of violence. The young woman's body has been sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine where it will undergo an autopsy.
Xhuana Nikollaj, who had completed her law studies, had left Lezha and was living in a rented apartment in Tirana with a friend of hers, because she had broken up with Fizi.
On the day of the incident, it is learned that they met to clarify things and in the hope of getting back together, but a few hours later the girl went to the hospital with no signs of life.
