Journalist Klodjana Lala recounted last night on the show "Kjo Javë" the backstage of the dismissal of Police Chief Ilir Proda, which was publicly declared as a resignation. She said that the dismissal of the leader of the Blues was predetermined and expected, even if the events at "Vila 31" during the opposition protest on February 28 had not occurred.
He also explained that Proda had caused a lot of damage to the police and was at the same time under scrutiny by SPAK after the AKSHI scandals, the accusations leveled against him for connections with crime figures and especially Ergys Agasin.
"Proda would have left even if it weren't for the attack on Villa 31. But also because of the files that were being investigated, the AKSHI issue where even his subordinates were rumored or implicated, or the suspected connections with businessmen Ergys Agasi and Ermal Beqiri, the hostage-takings that occurred because of AKSHI," the journalist said.
Lala underlined that there have been more serious events in Albania, but the police chief has never been dismissed, so he commented that this move was a political release valve on the part of Prime Minister Rama.
"There have been more serious criminal events in Albania, January 21 also happened, but the Director General of Police did not leave, but I think that the dismissal of Proda was also done as a release valve from Rama. This even after the reactions of the embassies accredited in Tirana that condemned the violence, since there were foreign tourists in the villa and in these circumstances the departure came", she continued.
