Several villages in the Kurbin and Lezha areas have been flooded as a result of increased river flows.
The increase in flow levels is caused by the opening of the gates of the Ulza and Shkopet hydroelectric power plants. The Ulza hydroelectric power plant is releasing about 400 cubic meters of water per second, while the Shkopet one is releasing about 450 cubic meters per second.
Residents should exercise increased caution and avoid endangered areas.
