Tirana Police has reacted after two days to the fire that destroyed dozens of businesses in the "May 5" market in Tirana, on the evening of January 8.
According to the police, the cause of the fire in the market silos, otherwise known as the former "Uzina Dinamo" market, is suspected to have been an electrical spark.
Meanwhile, the flames have caused significant damage to goods and material damage.
"On 08.01.2026, on "Ferit Xhajko" street, it is suspected that, as a result of an electrical spark, a fire broke out in the market silos otherwise known as the former "Uzina Dinamo" market, resulting in considerable damage to goods and material damage. Under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, procedural actions were carried out and it is suspected that the cause of the fire was accidental. The materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further investigations," the police announced.
