The Constitutional Court has decided to examine the case against former President Ilir Metaj in a session based on documents. The decision was made this Wednesday at a meeting of constitutional judges who assessed that the case should go to a session.
Ilir Meta is demanding the lifting of the security measure of prison arrest, saying it is disproportionate. The former president is being tried at the GJKKO for corruption, money laundering and concealment of assets.
Four other people are also defendants, including his ex-wife Monika Kryemadhi.
