Police have identified and arrested two suspects for arson. Investigations revealed that they started a fire on their own land, but the flames got out of control. Fires in the country have become a serious concern, often endangering people's lives and homes.

The suspected perpetrators of the fires in Peqinaj and Zhabjak are identified and arrested.
The services of the Kavaja Police Commissariat have identified and arrested 3 citizens suspected of being the perpetrators of fires that involved large areas of land with fruit trees, in the villages of Peqinaj, Kavaja and Zhabjak, Rrogozhina.
After receiving a report that a fire had broken out in these areas yesterday evening, police forces immediately went to the scene.
Thanks to rapid investigative actions, it was possible to identify, capture and arrest citizens FP, resident of Peqinaj, R. M, resident of Zhabjak and JM, resident of Zhabjak.
Investigations revealed that while burning waste on their land, the fire got out of control, engulfing a large area of fruit trees and causing the burning of an uninhabited house.
The procedural materials were passed to the Durrës General Jurisdiction Prosecutor's Office for further action.
The State Police appeals to all citizens and residents of rural areas not to light fires to burn waste or agricultural residues, as well as to avoid throwing lit cigarettes near forested areas, to prevent such risks to life and property.
