
Interpol Tirana announces that, in the continuation of cooperation with Italian counterparts, the extradition of Edison Cukaj, also known as Edison Gjoka, 32 years old, internationally wanted for the criminal offense of "Exercising unlawful influence over persons exercising public functions" has been finalized.
In April 2025, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime in Tirana had imposed the measure "Arrest in prison" on him. After arriving in Albania and completing the procedures at the Rinas Police Station, Edison Cukaj was handed over to the General Directorate of Prisons to serve his sentence.
This extradition is part of the international operation "The Wanted" and demonstrates the effective cooperation between Interpol Tirana and Interpol Rome for the capture and return of wanted persons.

A citizen wanted for the criminal offense of "Exercising unlawful influence over persons exercising public functions" is extradited from Italy.
Following the close cooperation of Interpol Tirana specialists with their counterparts from Interpol Rome, within the framework of the "The Wanted" operation, the extradition from Italy to Albania of citizen EC, alias E. Gj, 32 years old, was finalized.
Citizen EC, alias E. Gj, was declared internationally wanted, after in April 2025, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime in Tirana had imposed the security measure "Arrest in prison" for the criminal offense "Exercising illegal influence over persons exercising public functions".
At the conclusion of the procedures at the Rinas Police Station, citizen EC, alias E. Gj, was handed over to the General Directorate of Prisons.
