Durrës Police, through a media release, have clarified an incident that occurred on August 14 in the coastal city, where a foreign citizen was raped.
The Blues report that for the incident that occurred in neighborhood no. 13, where an Austrian citizen was injured, they have escorted and proceeded at large with two teenagers.
"Regarding a news item published on a media portal regarding the rape of a foreign citizen and the claim that the Police had not taken any concrete action on the case, we clarify:
At around 22:00 on 14.08.2025, the Austrian citizen (of Romanian nationality) AD reported to the Plazh Police Station, who reported that at around 15:30 on 14.08.2025, he had been raped for weak motives by 5 citizens, in neighborhood no. 13.
Immediately after the report, the necessary investigative actions were carried out, as a result of which two 17-year-olds suspected of having raped citizen AD were identified and escorted to the Police premises. At the end of the procedural actions, after consultation with the prosecutor, proceedings were initiated for the two minors in a free state for the criminal offense of 'Other intentional damage'", the police announced.
Meanwhile, investigations are ongoing to identify and bring to criminal responsibility all citizens implicated in this case.
