In response to Evi Kokalari's ongoing campaign of defamation and fraud, on August 15, 2025, internationally renowned singer and artist Bleona Qereti, through Waymaker Law Studio LLC, filed a lawsuit in the Supreme Court of New York, Queens County, seeking $2 million in damages.
Background of events:
Since 2022, Evi Kokalari has undertaken a continuous campaign of defamation, organized attacks, and disinformation against Bleona Qereti, distorting facts and fabricating false narratives, with the aim of undermining her professionally in her career and personally by damaging her reputation.
Evi Kokalari's actions were deliberate, calculated, and malicious, causing irreparable damage to Bleona's reputation and public image both in the US and in Albania.
In the fall of 2020, after meeting Bleona, Evi Kokalari saw this relationship as an opportunity to advance her ambitions both in Albania and in the U.S. The fake friendship with Bleona gave her access to influential individuals and media exposure, which she exploited for personal gain.
After feeling threatened by Bleona's presence and fame in various media and political circles, in order to advance her agenda, Evi Kokalari in 2022 severed all relations with Bleona, and launched a vengeful campaign against her, fabricating and publishing false narratives and maliciously interpreting Bleona's artistic materials and photographs on social networks and the media, with the aim of causing controversy and irreparably damaging her reputation.
Evi Kokalari has engaged in similar behavior towards others, but Bleona will no longer allow this to happen to her by turning to law enforcement institutions.
Ms. Kokalari's actions have included:• Publishing and amplifying defamatory and degrading statements on social media and in the media, to undermine her professionally and isolate her personally• Denigrating Bleona among individuals in her professional and personal network• Disinformation of American and Albanian political figures, for personal gain and to the detriment of Bleona• Attempting to boycott events where Bleona has been involved• Blackmailing and pressuring influential individuals, with the aim of financial gain and public exposure
Damage caused
This smear campaign has been deeply damaging, causing damage to Bleone's image, both professionally and personally.
The constant slander has not only affected Bleona's international career, but has caused deep emotional pain for her and her family, who have been forced to experience these vile attacks in the public eye. Millions of people have read Ms. Kokalari's malicious publications. As a result, many people no longer see her for who she really is, but through a distorted lens deliberately constructed by her.
Bleona shares a home with her parents and it has been a devastating pain for her to see her parents suffer public attacks and deceptions while their daughter is unjustly dragged into a media circus.
Damage to honor or moral image is not easily erased or forgotten in Albanian culture.
