A prominent Turkish businessman, Halit Yukay, 43, has mysteriously disappeared while sailing on his yacht, Graywolf, from Yalova, Turkey, to Mykonos, Greece, on Saturday evening.
The yacht was found broken into two pieces near Balıkesir in the Sea of Marmara, with no trace of Yukay. Authorities suspect he may have disappeared at sea, while search operations continue in earnest.
Event timeline:
August 4, 23:40: Yukay's family notified the Turkish Coast Guard after losing contact with him several hours after leaving Yalova. A search was immediately launched off the southern coast of Marmara.
August 5, 14:30: A merchant ship crew spotted the remains of a half-sunken vessel and notified authorities. Divers confirmed that it was Yukay's yacht, but found no trace of him.
August 5–6: Search operations continued with helicopters, divers and seven vessels. The search resumed at first light on August 6. Footage was released of Yukay leaving the port of Yalova for Bozcaada.

Yukay is the founder of Mazu Yachts, a luxury yacht manufacturer. A former member of the shipbuilding industry, he achieved success by pursuing the dream of owning his own yacht building company.
