The Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction has postponed until tomorrow the decision on security measures against 10 suspects in connection with the "Bankers" scandal, on the grounds that the case is very complex.
The company's general manager, Hongping Xiao, and former director Leonidha Çobo have been arrested in connection with the case. Five other people are under house arrest, while three others are under arrest warrants.
The Fier Prosecutor's Office has signed a total of 14 security measures, while some of the company's managers and former managers are still wanted.
According to the Prosecution, the company "Bankers Petroleum Albania Ltd" fictitiously inflated expenses from 2004 to the end of 2024, resulting in losses, which has caused the Albanian state to not benefit from any income for a period of 20 years.
Investigations show that the company exported and sold oil worth around 532 billion lek, or approximately 5 billion euros, but declared losses of 11 billion lek, or around 110 million euros, throughout this entire period.
