Residents of the village of Luzë, in Fushë-Krujë, have protested today, as they had previously warned, due to the deteriorating condition of the damaged road. They declare that they will block the road until their request for its repair is taken seriously into consideration by the relevant authorities.
According to residents, they have once fallen "prey" to fraud by the authorities, who did not keep their promise to fix the road in September.
"We will stay here until we die, we are not going to open the road. The situation is becoming a problem, there are school children here. There was no reaction even when we protested before."
I drive this road every day, but it's a nightmare. The road is in disrepair, our cars are destroyed, and the taxes are increasing day by day. We don't know whether we should pay for tires and car parts or the state.
Either they fix it, or we'll never leave it again. We'll stay here day or night. They lied to us once when they said they'd fix it in September.
"We have come out in protest for this road, which is in pieces. We pay the taxes for the cars to the state, but the vehicles just don't have a voice, because they can't get in here anymore," said some of the residents.
