Residents of the village of Çiflik, in the municipality of Berat, protested this Monday, accusing the municipality of closing drainage channels, a situation that they say is directly endangering their homes.
According to protesters, the blockage of water channels has caused water to divert and end up inside homes, causing repeated flooding. They say they have faced three floods this month alone, and the situation is becoming increasingly difficult to cope with.
"The municipality is drowning us. They have closed the canals and water is entering our homes. We have asked for help, but no one has reacted," the residents say.
They call on the responsible institutions to intervene urgently, emphasizing that the situation poses a serious threat to their lives and property.
