The Tirana Court does not accept the prosecution's request to seize the assets of businessman Elman Abule and citizen Kristian Boçi.
It is about assets worth 50 million euros. Elman Abule was known as one of the close friends of the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, and is being tried in the Special Court in the same file with the latter on charges of money laundering.
Abule is being investigated for money laundering along with Kristian Boci by the Tirana prosecution. Businessman Abule was convicted in 2007 in Belgium for the criminal offense of "Theft by breaking and entering or using duplicate keys" and "creating a criminal gang".
Kristian Boci has meanwhile been arrested in Italy and is suspected of links to Eldi Dizdari, the latter involved in international cocaine trafficking.

Regarding the interest shown by some journalists, we are referring to the official information provided by the judge in the case, as follows:
The Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Tirana, Criminal Chamber, considered the request of the Prosecution for the imposition of seizure against the companies of the persons under investigation EA, KB, DB, etc., initially judged by Judge L.Ç., who at the end of the trial accepted the request of the Prosecution to the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Tirana for the imposition of seizure.
Based on the appeal filed by the persons under investigation, the Tirana Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction has decided:
"Reversal of the decision and remand of the case for retrial by another panel..."
Also, based on the appeal made by the suspects, the Criminal Panel of the Supreme Court has decided to "Reject the appeal..."
Subsequently, the prosecution's request for the imposition of seizure, returned for retrial, was assigned by electronic lottery to Judge Altin Abdiu, who, in accordance with the guidelines of the decision of the Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction of Tirana at the conclusion of the trial in the "Deliberation Chamber", decided to dismiss the prosecution's request before the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Tirana.
This judge's decision was not appealed by the prosecutor in the case and the decision became final on 17.10.2025.
Based on Article 103, point 2 of the Code of Criminal Procedure: “The publication, even partial, of non-secret acts is prohibited until the conclusion of the preliminary investigations.” The decision is communicated only to the parties.
