Vlora has entered its fourth day without drinking water supply, a serious situation that has prompted citizen reaction.
After the mayor and her gaffes, today the General Director of the Albanian Water Supply and Sewerage, Flowers Shoshi, appeared, and was directly confronted with the questions and accusations of citizens.
Shoshi explained that the problem was caused by a serious defect in the main water supply line, which proved difficult to repair due to the high pressure and location of the defect. In other words, a smaller pipe was purchased for a large flow of water. He explained that technical teams have attempted to fix it three times, but without success.
"I know your concern and problem. We have tried three times to fix the defect, but we have not succeeded due to the pressure there and the place where the defect occurred. The original equipment is coming and tonight at midnight the defect will be fixed and the water will come. We will talk about everything again, but I tell you that today at midnight the problem will be solved", he declared to the citizens.
The Director of the ANA added that he has been in Vlora for more than 72 hours, closely following the situation, while emphasizing that he himself, like the citizens, has faced the lack of water. According to him, to cope with the emergency situation, contact numbers for "water tankers" have been posted, while currently 11 water tankers have arrived in the city to supply the most problematic areas.
During the confrontation with the protesters, there was no shortage of tensions, while the director himself, in order to calm the Vlora residents, was forced to admit that he himself had not washed. What does a poor man do when he is in trouble?
