The Special Appeal will review on October 17th Ilir Meta's appeal against the decision of the GJKKO that left him under the security measure of "prison arrest".
Meta is seeking his freedom, arguing that the investigation has concluded and there is no risk of him tampering with evidence or influencing witnesses. The former president is in pretrial detention until October 2024.
The former President and leader of the Freedom Party is currently in custody, following a security measure imposed by the GJKKO as part of the SPAK investigations, where he is accused of a series of criminal offenses related to corruption.
