Following the murder of Appeals Judge Astrit Kalaja in the courtroom on the afternoon of October 6, a series of incidents are being recorded in various courts across the country. This Friday, a lawyer clashed with a security guard at the Vlora Court after he was not allowed to enter the building.
Lawyer Redi Llanaj approached the metal detector to pass through it, claiming that he had been called to enter the courthouse premises, as there was a hearing. The guard did not allow him to enter, telling him that he was unaware that the lawyer had been called.
A verbal argument began between the two and the situation escalated into a physical confrontation, where, according to sources, Llanaj hit the court employee.
The lawyer was taken to the police station to provide explanations regarding the incident. There, he denied having assaulted the security guard. He did, however, admit that there had been an argument between them.
Another incident was recorded at the Aeli Court of General Jurisdiction, where the murder of a judge took place on the afternoon of October 6. Gentian Mali from Shkodra was escorted to the police station after a heated argument with a security guard. Mali, irritated by the wait, addressed the guard with the words "you are all to be killed."
During his testimony to the police, he stated that he went to the court to get information about a trial. According to him, the security guard was late to check him and he became nervous, as he is a van driver who was escorting children from school. According to the police, Gentian Mali is the brother-in-law of citizen Lazër Vladaj, who was arrested for extradition purposes and had a hearing at the Appeals Court, where several family members had gone. Lazër Vladaj was declared an international wanted person after being convicted by the Italian justice system for exploitation of prostitution.
