
The Special Court of Appeal decided this Friday to uphold the decision previously issued by the First Instance Court for Ardi Veliu's former driver, Sokol Idrizaj, as well as several of his family members and associates.
Agustin Mesuli, Altin Doda and Florian Baku were initially sentenced to 11 years in prison, but received a reduced sentence due to the summary trial and will serve 7.5 years each.
Sokol Idrizaj and his wife, Elda Idrizaj, were sentenced to 8 years in prison, which, after receiving the benefit of the summary trial, are reduced to 5.7 years each.
Egi Idrizaj, the couple's eldest daughter, will serve 4.7 years in prison, while the youngest daughter, Bora Idrizaj, was sentenced to 2 years. Tomorr Baruti was also sentenced to 2 years, which was reduced to 1 year and 4 months through a summary trial.
Meanwhile, Vangjush Kasharra has been declared innocent of the charge of "hiding income".
According to investigations, the group is suspected of transporting stolen and high-value items from France to Albania, which were then sold illegally through a jewelry store in Tirana and through online platforms.
