US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said that US forces will carry out the largest number of strikes against Iran since the start of the military operation.
"Today will be the highest volume of strikes since the first day of this operation," Hegseth said, repeating a warning he has made earlier in the conflict.
He added that the escalation is expected to continue. "Tomorrow there will be even more than today. Then Iran has a choice," he said.
The statement appears to be related to US President Donald Trump's ultimatum to Tehran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most important oil transport corridors.
The Pentagon's warning signals a possible intensification of military operations in the region, as tensions between the US and Iran remain at high levels.
