According to UN estimates, over 650,000 people still remain in Gaza City, as Israel escalates its military offensive.
International media reports that thousands of Palestinians are continuing to flee the city, as Israel enters the second day of its extensive ground offensive, aiming to take full control of the area.
According to Israeli authorities, the aim of this operation is to free hostages held by Hamas and destroy up to 3,000 of the group's fighters, in what they call Hamas' "last bastion." However, this intervention has prompted widespread condemnation in the international arena.
The leaders of over 20 major humanitarian organizations, including Save the Children and Oxfam, have warned that "the inhumane situation in Gaza is unacceptable."
These developments come just a day after a United Nations investigative commission concluded that Israel has committed acts of genocide against Palestinians in Gaza - an accusation that Israeli authorities have categorically denied.
Amid intense Israeli bombardment, the Hamas-controlled Gaza Health Ministry said the al-Rantisi Pediatric Hospital in Gaza City was hit three times on Tuesday evening, forcing about half of the patients to leave the facility.
A source at the hospital confirmed that there were no injuries, but material damage is significant – including to air conditioning systems, water tanks and solar panels.
"This is the only hospital specialized in treating children with cancer, kidney problems and other serious illnesses," said Fikr Shalltoot, director of the humanitarian organization "Medical Aid for Palestinians."
Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that they are reviewing reports regarding the attack on the hospital.
