US President Donald Trump has sharply criticized Iran for the way it is managing oil traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, describing the situation as problematic and unacceptable.
In a recent reaction, Trump accused Tehran of failing to guarantee the free passage of oil at this key strategic point.
"Iran is doing a very bad job and some would say dishonest in allowing oil to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. This is not the deal we have!" he said.
However, in an interview with NBC, Trump said he was "very optimistic" that a deal with Tehran was achievable.
He claimed that Iran's leaders "speak very differently when you're in a meeting than they do to the press. They're much more reasonable."
Trump added that "they are agreeing to all the things they have to agree to. Remember, they are occupied. They have no army."
