Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian warned that continued Israeli attacks on Lebanon could make ceasefire negotiations with the United States meaningless.
In a reaction on the social network X, he stressed that the escalation of the situation will undermine any diplomatic efforts, adding that Iran will not give up support for its allies in Lebanon.
Meanwhile, the speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, stated that Lebanon and what he called the 'Axis of Resistance' are an integral part of any ceasefire agreement.
He warned that any violation of the ceasefire would be met with a strong response, calling for an immediate halt to the fighting.
The situation further escalated after the Israeli military intensified attacks on Lebanese territory, despite a two-week ceasefire brokered by Pakistan between the United States and Iran.
While Islamabad and Tehran claim that the agreement also includes Lebanon, Washington and Tel Aviv have disputed this interpretation.
