This year, the November holidays have brought a significant increase in interest in travel, with Albanians preferring to use this period to travel both within the country and abroad. The 4-day official holiday has undoubtedly been a factor in planning.
Travel agencies and operators have offered a wide range of options to meet travelers' demands, making this year more attractive than ever for those seeking adventure, relaxation, and cultural opportunities.
Travel within Albania has remained a preferred option, with destinations such as Gjirokastra, Korça, Shkodra and the Northern Alps being among the most sought-after, according to communications with several hotels in the country.
On the other hand, tourist agencies have offered special packages that include trips to traditional villages, visits to heritage monuments, and opportunities to enjoy local food and culture. The average price of such packages starts at 70 euros/night per couple.
In addition, many Albanians have preferred to spend the November holidays on the Albanian coast, especially in Vlora, Durrës, where opportunities are offered to enjoy a personalized package for couples or families. The cost is estimated at around 90 euros/night for a family of 4 people.
On the other hand, trips outside Albania have also been popular, with many Albanians choosing popular European destinations such as Italy, Greece and Austria to spend the holidays with family or to take advantage of Black Friday shopping opportunities and cultural events. However, even this year, travel agencies emphasize that trips are higher than they can measure, because the majority of travelers organize their own movements abroad.
However, according to communications with operators, it is reported that they have offered affordable packages for such destinations, with the possibility of going to cities such as Milan, Vienna, Prague, Istanbul, etc. The cost for such trips starts from 199 euros/person, with a slight increase in prices compared to a year ago. Agencies report that hotel costs in Europe this year have been higher.
Meanwhile, a growing trend has been travel to Balkan countries, with Kosovo, North Macedonia and Montenegro offering opportunities to celebrate in cities like Pristina, Budva and Skopje, where Albanians have felt closer to traditions and cultural events. Also in these places, hotels have offered affordable all-inclusive packages, starting from 170 euros/person, accommodation and food.
Part of this year's trend is also the increased interest in short and attractive travel packages that offer opportunities for relaxing trips. For example, agencies cite the trip to Milan and the Bernina Express train, the cost of which is estimated at around 500 euros/person for 3 nights.
According to travel agencies, tourists who have chosen to indulge more have chosen trips such as Jordan, Japan, tours to Andalusia, or even New York, the cost of which starts at 1,500 euros/person for 5-6 or more days.
