The miners' strike at the Spaç Copper Mine has entered its fourth day, amid workers' demands for improved working conditions and the lack of response from the "Tete Albania" company.
The miners have gathered since the early hours of this morning to continue their protest, which began with the aim of improving working conditions, securing economic rights and guaranteeing treatment with dignity. They declare that they are ready to sit at the dialogue table, but also determined to escalate their actions if their demands are not taken into account.
"We are here to demand the right to work and live with dignity. Our strike is peaceful and based on legal, human and customary rights," declared representatives of the miners.
Meanwhile, the presence of the Rapid Intervention Forces near the company's premises is still visible today, which protesters consider an attempt at psychological pressure and intimidation. The miners emphasize that the behavior of the authorities does not comply with the democratic standards and the European spirit that the country aims to achieve.
Union representatives and supporters of their cause have called for solidarity from citizens and institutions, emphasizing the importance of protecting workers' rights, especially in difficult sectors such as mining.
Up to now, there has been no official reaction from the "Tete Albania" company or state institutions regarding the miners' demands.
