The organization "Civic Resistance" held a protest in front of the Traffic Police Commissariat in the Kinostudio area, against the Police action to seize electric skateboards.
Protesters oppose the measures taken by the authorities, arguing that the seizure of dozens of skateboards was done in the absence of an official act and in violation of the right to private property.
According to the organization, citizens' funds were taken only based on an announcement published on social media by the Ministry of Interior, without any documented legal document.
"Hundreds of skateboards have been seized from Tirana citizens based on an order on social media for which there is no official document. The seizure was made in clear violation of the law, exposing citizens to unfair financial costs and violating private property," - declares Qëndresa Qytetare.
This reaction follows the announcement on October 12 by the Ministry of Interior and the State Police of a temporary ban on the use of electric skateboards, citing their dangerous nature in traffic. The decision has caused widespread dissatisfaction among users of these vehicles, who consider the measure disproportionate and legally unfounded.
