A day earlier, Reporters Without Borders reacted to Prime Minister Edi Rama's statements on media freedom in Albania, which he had based on an analysis generated by an artificial intelligence startup, which claimed that the opposition had greater dominance in the media space.
The international organization urged the head of government to focus attention on the real problems of press freedom in the country, emphasizing its readiness for dialogue and cooperation with Albanian institutions. In its response, RSF underlined that it is open to discussing its recommendations with local parties.
In response, Prime Minister Rama described the organization's stance on the presented data as surprising, explaining that his goal was not to oppose "Reporters without Borders", but to bring to attention the facts and analyses that, according to him, show that Albania cannot be considered a country with "captured media".
Rama also expressed his readiness for a meeting and dialogue with the organization, proposing to set a date and place for discussion. He stressed that the search for truth must remain a priority over any prejudice or hasty conclusions, reconfirming that he remains open to cooperation and further exchange of data.
