United States President Donald Trump declared that the United States will launch an attack on the underground nuclear facility known as “Mount Kazmeh” in Iran, saying the strike will happen “very soon.”
Trump said the target is located near the Natanz nuclear complex, in central Iran, and that the United States is focused on controlling Iran’s nuclear materials.
Asked if he believed Tehran had moved advanced nuclear centrifuges to this fortified underground facility, the US president replied that such a thing was "not on record" by US authorities.
"It doesn't matter if they don't have the material. We go after the material, that's the main issue," Trump said, adding that the US would hit the area "very quickly and very hard."
According to the US president, he would not normally make such information public, but stated that he does not believe Iran could take measures against this action.
This is not the first time Trump has mentioned an attack on the facility. Last week he said the US would "probably be testing the Pickaxe relatively soon."
Meanwhile, according to CNN reports, Israel believes that Iran may have moved advanced centrifuges and part of its enriched uranium stockpile to this facility after the 12-day June conflict, citing an Israeli source familiar with the matter.
The "Mali Kazme" facility was declared to the International Atomic Energy Agency in 2020 as a planned structure for the assembly of centrifuges used in the uranium enrichment process.
