Socialist Party MP Erion Braçe has officially submitted to the Parliament a request for an interpellation with the country's Deputy Prime Minister, Albana Koçiu. After many confrontations and strong public positions that the socialist has held recently, this time his direct target is the government's number two.
According to the official document provided by VNA, Braçe is demanding an account of the current status of the process of legalizing informal constructions in the territory of the Municipality of Tirana. More specifically, the request focuses on Administrative Unit no. 5 and especially on the cadastral areas of Selita, divided below and above the New Ring Road of Tirana. The MP is seeking clear explanations for this impasse that affects hundreds of residents.
Official request filed in the Assembly:
"I request the development of an interpellation with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, Ms. Albana Koçiu, regarding the current status of the process of legalizing informal constructions in the territory of the Municipality of Tirana..."
This next step of Braça is not seen simply as an administrative battle within the genre, as he has called on various ministers in turn, some of whom have accepted and others have rejected. The movement takes on significant political weight if remembered in the context of his openly expressed ambition to run for mayor of Tirana in the future.
By choosing to strike precisely in one of the most sensitive areas of the capital (Unit 5 and Selita) and by demanding accountability from the government cabinet, Braçe seems to be clearly positioning himself as a defender of the interests of the citizens of Tirana, increasing internal political pressure and sending clear signals about future electoral challenges within and outside the majority.
