The Constitutional Court has announced the holding of a public plenary session to review the request of the former mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, on October 31, 2025. Veliaj himself, who is currently in detention, is expected to be present at this session.
According to the official announcement made public by the Court, the invitation for the session was sent to the parties on October 9, 2025, while on October 13, the institution notified the General Directorate of Prisons to take the necessary measures to guarantee his participation.
The decision to allow Veliaj to personally participate in this session is considered a significant development, as for the first time since his detention, he will appear publicly before the Constitutional Court.
