Democratic Party MP, Gjin Gjoni, has revealed for the first time on the "Off the Record" show with journalist Andrea Danglli on A2 CNN, his proposals for a strong resistance strategy against the Rama government — ideas that have sparked debate in many media outlets.
Gjoni said that in the face of the government's arrogance, he had proposed a series of extreme actions:
• the isolation and hunger strike of democratic deputies,
• changing the form of the protests, to make them sustainable and not just with speeches,
• as well as a personal financial contribution from each deputy, so that the protesters are kept with food and water during the siege of the Prime Minister's Office.
"MPs must sacrifice themselves, pay between 1,000 and 1,500 euros from their salaries, so that the protesters can remain in the square. Not to bring them with money, but to keep them. Only in this way can there be a real movement," declared Gjoni.
He added that protests with speeches and walks on the boulevard have not brought any results, while this new form of confrontation would aim to hand over Edi Rama.
