Democratic MP Tritan Shehu issued a strong call today to the government, demanding that it react to Donald Trump's proposed peace plan for Gaza.
Shehu described the initiative as “extraordinary,” an effort that he said offers a solution to one of the world’s most complex and long-standing conflicts, eliminates the risk of terrorism, and avoids unnecessary deaths. He recalled that the 20-point plan “should be applauded,” even though it has its difficulties.
The lawmaker said that he has addressed the Foreign Affairs Committee and the government itself to take an official position on this American initiative, but so far the silence has been absolute. "Only Sali Berisha and I are the only ones who have reacted and supported this plan. The Albanian government, even formally, must make a statement. Otherwise, it sounds bad," he commented.
