Even the symbolism of the February 20th national protest of the Democratic Party of Albania (DP) had the same scenario as in the past protests with supporters gathering in front of the Prime Minister's Office, with calls against the government but without toppling the "bust" of Edi Rama. The novelty was the list of speakers of the DP, where this time there was a place for Ermal Hasimjan who came to the podium without uniting the opposition through the "Forum for Political Dialogue" and the DP MP, Jorida Tabaku, who unlike other times who stood on the edges of the protest, today ascended the podium.
They repeated the same accusations about the need to overthrow the government and spread the same message that only united can Edi Rama's departure be achieved.
Along the same lines, the leader of the Democratic Party (DP) also repeated the accusations against the government and Edi Rama, accusing the majority of using crime to govern Albania and rob Albanians. He said that Edi Rama is ruining the country and his days are numbered.
Before he could finish his speech, protesters began to attack the Prime Minister's Office with fireworks and several improvised Molotov cocktails. This led to the immediate reaction of the police, who fired water cannons instead of tear gas. This situation lasted a few minutes, while the protest moved in front of the Parliament.
Unlike previous times, Berisha did not go to the office but led the protesters towards the Parliament, where the scenario was the same. Some young people threw Molotov cocktails and burned some garbage cans. While the police massively fired tear gas to disperse the protesters.
The large amount of gas has made it impossible for believers to pray Tarawih in the Namazgja mosque.
That was enough for the fourth DP protest to end without any innovation in the battle against the government.
