A few hours before the protest, the Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, in a press conference emphasized that the protest called by the opposition was peaceful.
He stated that peaceful protest is the platform of the DP.
"As far as what they say is concerned, the protest is peaceful, we only organize peaceful protests. We have this platform, if we didn't have it, I wouldn't be saying this. We are a democratic opposition, the opposition doesn't have bandits like Porda and Sokol Bizhga, there are no traffickers, murderers like them," Berisha said.
He described any other claim as a "serious act of provocation" and added that the opposition will go all the way to complete victory. "These rats who are running away will be caught wherever they are. You steal Albanian citizens for 13 years and when you find out that an arrest warrant has been issued, you run away. Corruption will be declared a serious crime, secondly, leaving will be declared a crime that doubles and triples the punishment, they will rot, all the years in prison will be spent", Berisha continued.
