Former DP MP, Dashnor Sula, has been appointed as Chief Inspector General, following the departure of Shkëlqim Hajdari from this post.
The decision comes at a delicate political moment, where the majority is seeking to strengthen control over key institutions and neutralize critical voices or unstable figures.
Sula's appointment is the latest of the Democrats to join Rama's government, while his appointment is seen as a political reward and not as the result of a transparent process or meritocratic competition.
