Following the tensions recorded in yesterday's plenary session of the Parliament, the Democratic Party and the Socialist Party have sent requests to the ethics secretariat for the exclusion of deputies from parliamentary proceedings.
The DP parliamentary group has requested the disciplinary measure "exclusion from participation in committees and plenary sessions for 60 days" against the chairman of the SP Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, accusing him of using offensive, sexist and discriminatory language towards MP Albana Vokshi.
On the other hand, the Socialist Party has requested the expulsion of the leader of the Democratic parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, for 10 days, and MP Klevis Balliu for 30 days, on the grounds that they obstructed the normal conduct of the parliamentary session. The Socialists argue that during the plenary session on the 5th, the two Democratic MPs used inappropriate language and blocked the rostrum, obstructing the normal course of the Assembly's proceedings.
Yesterday's session was characterized by fierce debates and verbal clashes between the majority and the opposition, following Taulant Balla's statement against Albana Vokshi. Following this incident, the DP parliamentary group has requested Balla's 60-day exclusion from participating in parliamentary proceedings.
The Ethics Secretariat will meet on Monday to review these requests. At 2:00 PM, the SP's request for the expulsion of two Democratic MPs will be reviewed, while an hour later, at 3:00 PM, the Democratic Party's request for the Balla will be reviewed.
