The ministers of Albania are sitting at this table. At least that's what the official government list says.
But a simple question: Do you know who Ermal Nufi is? Where does Enea Karakaçi come from? Or what does Adea Pirdeni do every day in the office?
If the answer is “we don’t know,” don’t worry. You’re probably in the majority.
In this cabinet, among the most well-known to the public is Toni Gogu. While Albana Koçiu is likely to be better known only in the palace where she lives.
One who has managed to stand out, but mainly for her blunders, is Health Minister Evis Sala. While the Minister of Agriculture and Defense would hardly be recognized by the guards at the entrance to the Prime Minister's Office, if they entered on foot and not by official vehicle.
In the past, to become a minister, you had to have a political history, a public profile, and a few battles in parliament. Today, it seems that the criteria is much more practical: never saying “no” when you get a call from the prime minister's office.
And so a cabinet is created where some are there by chance, some by blind obedience, and some are perhaps still trying to understand what they are doing at that table.
