The Democratic Party has finally closed the door on Ervin Salianji's candidacy. In an official response to Report TV, it is announced that Salianji cannot run, as he is no longer a member of the DP.
Just a day ago, Salianji did not rule out the possibility of running against Sali Berisha, but with the update of the membership lists, he is now outside the Democratic Party.
The published instruction emphasizes that those who "have worked against the interests of the Democratic Party in election campaigns, engaging in various forms in support of our political opponents" will not be considered members of the DP.
Also, according to the document, those who "with their public and political stances have acted against the political line of the Democratic Party, or have united their votes and stances with political opponents on very important issues at the local or central level" will not be considered part of the party.
