Former DP candidate for MP, Ilir Alimehmeti, has criticized the DP's negligence in the by-elections. On the show "Të Paekspozuarit" with Ylli Rakipi, he said that there was a great lack of organization from supporting parties, including the DP.
Alimehmeti also said that the DP should undergo a complete reorganization before the 2027 local elections.
"You are right here, the electorate was left without a choice, on one side there is a corrupt clique that we saw did not support it, on the other side there was no ready-made situation, as there were figures with integrity who participated as independents, but they cannot do their job in a week or ten days. It must be the DP as the leader of the opposition to do the work here. There has been a great lack of organization from the supporting parties, including the DP. For 2029 we must go through 2027. I conceive of a race to go for victory, not these discussions about defeat. We must move towards a complete reorganization of the DP. We are clear about what the people want," said Alimehmeti.
