After a long summer of reflection and silence, the opposition seems to be closing its holidays and preparing to return to the political scene. At least, this is what the meeting between the secretary of the DP, Flamur Noka, and the secretary of the PL, Tedi Blushi, suggests. A two-hour meeting between the two secretaries seems to be a clear sign that "opposition action" is on the horizon.
The meeting took place at the Blue House, around noon, where sources indicate that the discussion focused on escalating opposition action, both in parliament and on the ground. An initiative that could be launched in the first sessions of September, with the possibility of returning to "national" protests as part of a joint opposition movement.
It seems that the sea and the sun have served to reflect more deeply on new political strategies. Because, beyond the rhetoric about not recognizing the May 11 elections, the opposition did not conduct any serious analysis to understand why Albanians chose not to vote for them. And most likely, such an analysis will not occur in the new session either.
With the two leaders of the main parties busy with legal battles, the opposition scene seems to be managed by their two inseparable loyalists, Noka and Blushi. In addition to their unwavering commitment to their leaders, they share another common trait, the impulsiveness and passion in their style of doing politics, which often brings them closer to an imitation of their leaders.
Both have entered the Assembly thanks to closed lists, but it remains to be seen whether they will be able to convince citizens with the "new opposition action". Whether this will ever be more than a tired old continuation with new slogans on banners, because the faces at the head of the actions will be the same.
