Today, the Electoral College reviewed the request of Democrat Andia Ulliri to take over the mandate of MP. Ulliri requested the reversal of the CEC decision that had granted the mandate to Arjan Ndoja.
At the hearing, Andia Ulliri was represented by lawyer Indrit Sefa, while Arjan Ndoja was not present and was represented by lawyer Rexhë Margjeka. The former prosecutor's lawyer requested that Ulliri not be legitimized as a complaining party.
After the hearing, the panel decided to dismiss the case, arguing that Ulliri does not have standing as a plaintiff.
The Democratic candidate had previously appealed the decision of the Complaints and Sanctions Commission and Chief Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi, who had rejected her requests, on the grounds that the open and closed lists operate separately.
Andia Ulliri has run on the Democratic Party-Alliance for Greater Albania lists in the Durrës district and is seeking to take the mandate from Arjan Ndoja due to the gender quota.
