Sali Berisha appeared again this Monday at the SPAK premises, in compliance with the compulsory appearance measure imposed by the Court on the privatization issue of the former sports club “Partizani”. In front of journalists, Berisha issued strong accusations against the head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, whom he now ironically calls “Altin Troplini”, accusing him of being a protector of drug cartels.
According to the former prime minister, Dumani is collaborating with organized crime, informing gang leaders before arrest warrants are issued. He mentioned the case of Elvis Doçi and claimed that “250 national and international arrest warrants have not been executed,” while gangs continue to be free on Albanian territory.
"Altin Troplini has been declared honorary president of the Troplini cartel by Elvis Doçi himself, for the support he has given to this criminal group. At the time of the Serious Crimes Prosecution, the execution of arrest warrants was up to 90%, while today for crime bosses it does not even exceed 10%," Berisha declared.
Meanwhile, Berisha came to the defense of Shkodra prosecutor Elsa Gjeli and judge Hazbi Balliu, who have been attacked in recent days by Prime Minister Edi Rama as part of the operation to liberate public spaces.
"Rama viciously attacked Prosecutor Gjeli for correctly implementing the Shkodra Police report and then attacked Judge Balliu, who implemented a government decision to recognize the right of pre-emption. And no one from the justice institutions came to his defense. Grave silence," he added.
In his statement, Berisha also accused the Supreme Court of Kosovo of selective protection, citing the case of judge Irena Gjoka, whom he said cheated in vetting and is charged with three criminal offenses.
