The Chairman of the Laws Committee, Ulsi Manja, has commented for the first time on the OSCE/ODIHR final report on the May 11 parliamentary elections, which in some parts criticizes the Socialist Party for its use of public administration and the patronage system during the campaign. Manja acknowledged that the report's findings are consistent with those raised by the Democratic Party immediately after the elections.
"As for the findings, they are those that, I believe, every Albanian knows after May 11, because they have been emphasized by the opposition not once, but several times, even in the plenary session," he said, then moving on to the recommendations section of the report.
At the joint meeting of the Laws Committee and the Committee on Civic Initiatives, Cooperation and Institutional Oversight, six resolutions were adopted for the justice institutions, the Public Procurement Committee and the Public Administration, which were opposed by the democratic deputies. On Monday, at 10:00, the justice institutions will report to the plenary session, where deputies will have the opportunity to ask them questions for about 150 minutes.
