The leader of "Albania Becomes", Adriatik Lapaj, is concerned about the statements of Berisha, who said today that he is ready to sit down with Rama about the constitutional changes. Lapaj states that the changes of 2008 brought many problems to Albania and, according to him, this scenario is expected to be repeated.
However, he has made clear the positions of the political force he leads, emphasizing that it is in favor of a national system with open lists and the return of electoral coalitions.
"The last time Sali Berisha agreed with Edi Rama on constitutional changes was in 2008. The constitutional changes of that year caused Albania so many problems for so many years. This tragedy risks repeating itself. Today, as we received this news, here in the village of Klos, where we are holding meetings with citizens, we present our position as a movement. The "Albania Becomes" movement stands for a national proportional electoral zone with open lists. Secondly, the return of pre-election coalitions. Both of these would achieve the democratization of Albania and the opening of the race," he said.
It remains to be seen how much consideration will be given to Lapaj's proposals and how he will impose them, since he can only participate in the electoral reform commission as a spectator, without the right to vote. Rama and Berisha have also shown that when they agree on certain changes, they do not even get the opinion of their advisors.
