A new cyberattack has hit the technological infrastructure of the Albanian Parliament today, paralyzing the work of the administration and lawmakers. Since the morning hours, as VNA has learned, deputies and support staff have lost access to their computers and official communication accounts.
The group known as "Homeland Justice" has claimed responsibility for the attack, claiming to have secured all of the electronic correspondence of recent months. According to their announcement on the Telegram platform, the private conversations and official documents of "corrupt members of the Assembly" are now in their hands.
"We are much closer to you than you think," the hackers' threatening message reads, accompanied by strong accusations of harboring people with criminal records.
The Parliament's IT system remains down while work is underway to assess the extent of the damage and restore security to the network. This attack follows a series of cyberattacks that have targeted Albanian institutions over the past year, once again raising questions about the protection of state data.
