The SP's decision not to lift Belinda Balluku's immunity has led Berisha to side with SPAK today. In a statement to the media, the DP leader said that the sovereign must now take justice into his own hands and called on citizens to gather in front of Parliament on March 12.
"He showed today that he is ready for any scenario, not to appear before the law and justice. But in case the executive, with criminal records, decides not to accept the decisions of justice, it is up to the sovereign and not justice to have its say. The word is of the citizens: on the 12th, all of Albania in front of Parliament, in the most powerful protest the country has ever known," he said.
As in every case when justice acts on issues that are also in his interest, Berisha today not only did not call it "SKAP", but said that the prime minister's decision on Balluk is an attack on justice that is protecting the interests of citizens.
"What you are doing is not an attack on SPAK, but on justice. Because in this regard, justice is representing you, it is representing the law and your interests. But this is a direct attack on you," Berisha said.
The chief democrat also spoke about the Port of Durres, which he accused the prime minister of building with the Russians and others who, according to him, have strategic interests that conflict with NATO.
