The Socialist Party has presented its position regarding SPAK's request for the replacement of the security measure against MP Belinda Balluku.
Taulant Balla announced that the report on this request has already been submitted.
"We have submitted the report on SPAK's request on Balluk," he said.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, read the report of the five SP members in the Mandates Council, emphasizing that within the majority there is full agreement on the position taken.
"We are in complete agreement. We have a new institutional reality. MP Belinda Balluku is no longer part of the government. As a result, the measure of securing suspension from office no longer produces any real legal consequences," said Manja.
According to him, even the arguments about escape or destruction of evidence remain hypothetical.
"The escape and destruction of evidence remains hypothetical, as the MP in question no longer exercises executive duties," said Manja.
He also emphasized that this request differs from other cases that have previously come to the Assembly for security measures.
"It differs from other requests that have come for security measures, because it is not a security measure for the first time. A measure for detention abroad is in force. Arrest is requested for an offense that has been under investigation since August 2024. We are in the conditions that require the replacement of this measure," said Manja.
