Another complaint received by the VNA editorial office raises serious questions about the activities of the ANK company, owned by Agim Kola, which is also reported to have family ties with businessman Rrok Gjoka.
According to information received by the editorial office, the company in question is extracting inert materials near the Milot bridge, in a sensitive area of the riverbed. The source of the complaint claims that the activity has been taking place for days, while the responsible institutions have not taken any action, despite reports.

The extraction of aggregates from rivers is a practice that has caused significant environmental damage for years, changing riverbeds, increasing the risk of flooding, and damaging the ecosystem.
The case is made even more sensitive by the company's history in important infrastructure projects. ANK is one of the companies that is building part of the Librazhd-Prrenjas axis, a segment that recently became the subject of public debate after the collapse of a section of the road blocked the entire southeast of the country for a long time.
This event raised questions about the quality of the works and how high-cost infrastructure projects for the public budget are monitored.
The denunciation of the extraction of inert materials near the Milot bridge further increases concerns about the way some large construction companies in the country operate, while institutional controls seem to be absent or remain only on paper.
So far, there has been no reaction from the institutions responsible for the environment or from local authorities, while it remains unclear whether the reported activity is carried out with a permit or in violation of the law.
If the allegations in the complaint prove true, the case would raise another big question:
are Albanian rivers being exploited as an uncontrolled source of inert gas, while institutions choose not to see it?
