Sali Berisha has commented on the resignation of the Public Relations Secretary, Jola Hysa, from the Democratic Party. In a conversation he held with citizens on Facebook, Berisha treated Hysa's resignation as a normal act on her part, which implied that he had not even read the concerns raised by his former colleague about the way the party functions.
The DP leader said that Hysa had sent him a message announcing that she would be leaving, while he had thanked her for her contribution.
"Jola Hysa sent me a message yesterday in which she thanks me for my cooperation, but informs me that she will resign, and I respect and thank her for the contribution she has made and I fully respect her decision," Berisha said.
The chief democrat further added that "resignations are a normal act in a democratic party and in a free society."
In fact, how free the Democratic Party is is also shown by the recent resignation of Berisha's next associate, Jola Hysa, who after two decades realized that many things in that party do not work, which she listed in her long Facebook status.
She wrote, among other things, that the position she held in the DP was devoid of real competences. Representation in municipal councils, she says, did not give people with contributions, while the lists for the Durrës region were drafted in a way that left out figures who had worked in the field for years.
In her status, Hysa also criticizes the way the opposition managed the process for the People's Advocate, calling it a political and institutional mistake. The problem, she says, is deeper: a party that makes decisions in a narrow circle and where even the members of the Presidency learn from the media.
Although Hysa's statement is a bit belated, they remain fully committed to a party that is shrinking more and more with each passing day, as members are leaving one after another.
And this is a disaster for a political force that claims to come to power, which not only does not reflect to prevent this, but its leader does not even bother to read the criticisms of its members.
