Mr. Mentor Cuku is appointed Deputy Director of the National Bureau of Investigation
At the end of a competitive and transparent process for the selection of the Deputy Director of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), the Director of the NBI has appointed Mr. Mentor Cuku to this position.
This appointment was made pursuant to point 3 of Article 36 of Law No. 95/2016, “On the Organization and Functioning of Institutions to Combat Corruption and Organized Crime”, as amended, according to which the Deputy Director is appointed by the Director of the National Bureau of Investigation, with the consent of the Director of the Special Prosecution, after conducting an open and transparent selection process. The mandate of the Deputy Director is 4 years, with the right to re-election only once.
11 candidates applied for this position, who met the legal and professional criteria set for this function. All candidates were characterized by a high level of professional preparation, experience in the field of investigation and outstanding leadership skills, which made the selection process particularly challenging.
Mr. Mentor Cuku is an investigator with the National Bureau of Investigation and has a long and consolidated professional experience in investigating criminal offenses of corruption, organized crime and serious crimes. During his career, he has been distinguished for high professional integrity, leadership skills and continuous dedication.
